O. Rochus +240

Also like Nieminen, Djokovic, and Haas as the big favorites!

Ollie Rochus does look a great price at +240 considering he leads him 3-1 head to head. Both players are very streaky, and I think getting +240 about one of them is great value.

To me, initially the program looks like there are a number of standouts, but I dont know if there is a lot of value, especially at this time of the season. A lot of players have a lot to play for, and are quite short accordingly, so I guess it depends how big your bank and balls are. Also, some of these matches and the players care factor could change dramatically if another player loses an earlier match due to the need for points for a spot in Shanghai.

Firstly, I love Djokovic tonight but his price is getting a little high. He was -250 earlier and is now -281. I also lean strongly to Gasquet in front of his hometown fans and riding the wave of winning in France last week, but im wary of laying the short price about these two young plaers when they dont have a lot to play for.

Initially I thought Tommy Haas was a good thing but his form since the US Open stinks, and I cannot back Llodra as I am not a fan of his. Perhaps the play there might be to bet against Haas winning 2-0 though, and use his recent poor form and Llodra's outstanding winning record on indoor courts since the US Open ( 21-4 ) and home country advantage to find some value.

James Blake has to be a bit of a risk after missing last weeks tourny with tonsilitis and going up against hometown fave Arnaud Clement. Blake does lead him 4-0 head to head but his carpet form is ordinary. He has plenty to play for though, but id like to see his first match back from illness before taking that price.

You would think ToJo looks a good thing but above -300 there is absolutely no value about him. He had to go to two TB's against Spadea today and to me that form isnt overly flash.

Ancic also looks to strong for Vliegen but as with most other matches there doesnt appear to be a lot of value. He had a must win match a couple of weeks ago and got beaten in the first round, so forgive me if I dont jump into the short price about him.

All in all there looks to be a lot of clear winners on paper, but I cannot see a lot of value there, especially when a lot of the players dont have a lot to play for. Weve seen with the glut of retirements in matches recently that some players dont care how they finish a match, and with a two month offseason awaiting them, some may want to start it a little sooner.

Good luck to all.

WTA for me today.....at Belgium (indoor hardcourt)

1. Y Fedak (UKR) to win 2-0 -143 over C Maes (BEL)- Caroline is getting WC entry on home soil. She's a clay courter who is ranked outside the top 300. She plays primarily on the ITF circuit. The last 2 yrs on the WTA she is 1-7: of those matches two have been Vs players inside the top 70 and she lost both in straights.........Yuliana sits at 66th in the world. At 23, she is having her finest yr on the WTA. She prefers hardcourt conditions. 24-22 ytd on the WTA, 11-1 on the ITF with 2 titles. She is assimlated with court conditons already having had to go thru qualies. To win this bet she must win in straights: since the US Open she is 5-6, ALL FIVE OF THOSE wins have been in straights. In fact, of her 24 wins on the WTA, 21 have been in staights, 87%.

2. small play K Clisters (BEL) -6.5 games -110 over A Kremer (LUX)-- VAMOS KIM!!!!!!!!

have a good day all.

1-1 for me but loss nearly a full unit as only had Kim small, as posted.

Kudos for Caroline, great numbers supported Yuliana. Caroline's biggest win in over two yrs, hands down (rankings wise, of course).

Went small on Kim as she has been out for two months--but, with a 6.5 games line and an opponent outside the top 100 i'd take that bet EVERYTIME. Kim is without question one of the elite 'games line covers machines' in tennis today

madcapper, nice call on Tommy, 'hope' you took him.

have a nice evenign all

great win by Blake today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
